Introduction
TALL was established in London in 2005 by director, Toby Maclean. An Edinburgh office was opened in 2015. In 2016, TALL joined Entuitive, an international consulting engineering practice with offices in Canada, North America and the UK.

TALL is recognised as an innovative, award winning practice. TALL pride themselves on providing practical yet elegant and sophisticated design solutions to projects in the fields of construction, architecture, engineering and art ranging from artists houses to bespoke furniture to oil platforms in the North Sea. We have particular experience and expertise on unusual and technically challenging projects.

We view close collaboration as essential to the design process and are enthusiastic supporters of cross-fertilisation between all design fields. Such a philosophy has quickly proved successful and projects by TALL won major architectural and structural awards including those from RIBA and the Institution of Structural Engineers.

TALL's approach leads to naturally sustainable solutions involving efficient use of materials and we have a history of making use of local and unusual materials and craftsmanship where possible.

The range of projects undertaken by TALL is diverse and we enjoy the challenges presented by this varied mix. Broadly, our projects can be categorised as follows:

Residential We have completed many high-profile and award-winning private residences.

Commercial Our work on commercial buildings is appreciated by developers for its economy and buildability in combination with a high level of architectural refinement.

Institutions We have undertaken projects on behalf of schools, churches, councils and other government bodies as well as galleries and museums.

Infrastructure TALL have recently completed the concept design for a new 250m footbridge based on the ring girder principle and have also been involved in other specialist bridges. TALL also has particular expertise in steel screw pile foundation design.

Community TALL has a strong record of projects in the community, including many play spaces for children and we are also involved in presenting community outreach workshops.

Art Projects TALL are well known for their involvement in art projects in the public, private and commercial realms, from the small scale interventions to large iconic pieces such as the proposed White Horse by Mark Wallinger, dubbed the "Angel of the South".

Technical Assessments Over the last few years TALL have developed a specialism in applying their engineering expertise to technical assessments of products, new fabrics for tent structures, and a device for assisting technicians climbing ladders in wind turbine towers.

Expert Witness TALL have a good working knowledge of the legal process and principles and have been called upon to provide expert witness assistance in technical court cases.
